I am a nuclear theoretical physicist and recognized international expert in the area of strong nuclear interactions in extreme conditions, and the use of effective field theory techniques. These physical scenarios are nowadays being explored in large accelerator facilities (LHC, RHIC) and have become of central interest after the detection by the LIGO–VIRGO collaboration of gravitational waves from a merger of neutron stars.
